Engineering begins in Spring 2023 and completion is planned for 2025 at a cost of $2M. Pavement overlay projects are planned for Spring River Road and Burgess Road to the Forest Service boundary in 2024 – 2025. Bridge maintenance will be implemented at South Century Drive, Cottonwood Road, Harper Bridge, and Wood Duck Court in 2025 – 2027. Plans to relieve traffic congestion at the entrance to Sunriver Business Park are being developed. Extending Foster Road pavement South to State Recreation Road is a low priority.

ODOT will begin construction of the Bend to Lava Butte multi-use paved trail in 2024. A Highway 97 underpass will connect to the High Desert Museum. An extension of the trail to La Pine is planned for 2028 depending on funding. Seeking funds for Highway 97 four-lane extension three miles South of Vandevert Road including a wildlife overcrossing. The Wickiup Junction overpass structure will be analyzed for several years to determine stability for future use. The $175M North Highway 97 realignment project construction will begin Fall 2022 – 2024. Electronic speed limit signs have been installed on Highway 97 between Bend and La Pine. The speed limits will be updated automatically depending on weather and road conditions.
